Microsoft Accidentally Flags Google as Malware

For four hours on February 14, Microsoft’s Internet Explorer was flagging Google as malware.  The error, which occurred due to a faulty security update in Microsoft’s Forefront and Security Essentials, falsely reported that Google had been infected by the Blackhole Exploit Kit (a Russian exploit that lets hackers build their own botnet to target Windows users) and labeled the search engine as a “severe” security threat.
